Back in the car, it took us a total of 3 hours to drive back to Thess (including stopping time). A swim was needed after that. Part of the poolside bar complex was closed for the setup of a “private function”. We could still swim – just had to swim at one end. We could still eat in the evening -just at one end. Which we did. So we moved on and went back to Potos Beach. Or rather, the end which is actually known as San Antonio Beach. We’ve not spent nearly as much time there as we should have done – it is a nice beach, soft sand, nice and shallow, easy to get in and out – and crucially plenty of space! Continue Reading

The last time I was on Thassos was when I drove myself, the whole way, in my car from England – I am quite used to getting on and off Greek ferries. Being directed to go down the ramp from the main car deck to the lower deck, didn’t phase me at all. We call this the “Thunderbird” because the ramp pops up out of the deck, muck like the takeoff ramp for Thunderbird 2! Continue Reading

Olympiada was less busy than at the weekend so there was plenty of space for us on the beach. Olympiada’s beach is nice and sandy, and shallow for a long way out. The sea at this time of year is so warm as well. Continue Reading
