Αστρίδα και Ποτός, Θάσος 🇬🇷
We went out for dinner earlier than usual this evening so we could eat while watching the sun set over the sea.
We chose a restaurant at the far end of the beach here in Ποτός (Potos). 25 years ago, it was a basic beach bar with a playground I used to play in as a child. It has since grown into a bigger restaurant, and the beach setting, away from the busy hustle-and-bustle of the main village, makes it a peaceful place to sit.
I enjoyed kokkinisto, the beef in tomato sauce dish I love. This one came with feta cheese and another sauce I couldn’t quite place. It was different, but very tasty. I also had homemade lemon juice with honey, which was sweet and refreshing.
Earlier in the day, we went back to Αστρίδα (Astrida, also known as Astris). We had lunch on the beach, then I sunbathed, swam and read my book. I’ve started a new one now: The Island Getaway by Lucy Diamond. It’s about a disgraced TV celebrity who moves to Greece to live in exile. The thought of moving to Greece appeals to me.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is our last full day on Thassos before we head back to the mainland on Thursday.
