Στην Παραλία :: At the Beach
The last couple of days the Sun in Syros has been quite strong, and I’ve not really done much other than go to the beach.
The last couple of days the Sun in Syros has been quite strong, and I’ve not really done much other than go to the beach.
It was a very hot afternoon; Syros might only be a few miles across the water from Tinos but the weather always seems so different.
Today I drove to the North of Tinos, to visit Rochari / Ροχάρη beach.
Last time we were on Tinos 4 years ago we did a coach tour of the island, and I wanted to re-vist a couple of the places we went to.
I’m now on my second Greek island this holiday and for the next 6 days I’m in the Cyclades. I’ve got 3 nights on Τήνος/Tinos, followed by 3 nights on Σύρος/Syros.
Today has been a long day on the road – my car’s GPS records show it was 9hrs 31mins of driving time, plus stops with added 1hr 50min to that. I’ve covered nearly 500 miles in a single day!
Today I’ve done my own self-guided tour of Thassos and have driven a whole lap of the island.
I had almost forgotten what it is like to come to Thassos outside of high season. The last few times we’ve come here have all been during school holidays in July/August, when it is extremely busy.…
On the way in to Keramoti – it’s not often this happens – I got stuck behind a slow moving Audi.
After settling in to my caravan, I went out to get the waterbus in to Venice. A 20 minute boat ride later, I was in the middle of Venice, walking next to the Grand Canal towards St Mark’s Square.
