Αττικό Ζωολογικό Πάρκο

Today I woke up early enough to see the sunrise (07:14am). I had my usual bougatsa for breakfast and then after packing up my things got in the car.

I spent the morning at the zoo – the Attica Zoological Park (Αττικό Ζωολογικό Πάρκο) which I loved. My favourite animals to see were the seals, dolphins (I got splashed by a jumping dolphin!), the meerkats, the lemurs…oh and I fed a giraffe too. The big cats were good to see (but…they’re cats…they just sleep all the time, they don’t do anything particularly exciting during the day). The birds of pray were impressive, and the crocodile & aligators looked menacing. I just hope that fence is stronger than it looks.

After leaving the zoo I set the sat nav for Corinth – a late lunch by the Corinth Canal and then off to Finikounda (Φοινικούντα) in the South West of the Peloponnese. I arrived about half an hour before sunset and after a walk around town chose a restaurant for dinner – I opted for their special which today was lamb giouvetsi (giouvetsi is a sort of stew – meat in a tomato sauce with pasta).

No particular plans for tomorrow but I probably won’t go far – maybe find the beach nearby which I liked last time I was in this area – or possible go to either Coroni or Methoni (whichever one I don’t do tomorrow I’ll do on Tuesday).

Καληνύχτα,

Φρεντ.
