Το Μπαλκονάκι 🇬🇷
Breakfast came with three rather determined guests this morning. The moment we sat down, three cats surrounded us and made it quite clear that they expected us to share. Thankfully, the breakfast here is so generous that there was more than enough to go around!
After that sociable start to the day, we returned to the pool for another peaceful morning. Later, I went to the bakery for some fresh bread rolls, and we made lunch back at the apartment.
After lunch, we got into the car and drove for about 20 minutes along the coast to a beach that had been recommended to us: Το Μπαλκονάκι, or ‘Little Balcony’.
This proved to be a very pleasant spot, with clear water and a wooded hillside wrapping around the bay. I spent the afternoon doing exactly what a beach afternoon is for: sunbathing, reading my book and cooling off with a swim in the sea.
In the evening, we went out for pizza. I chose a small Margherita, while Mum ordered a large pizza topped with ham, cheese and mushrooms. ‘Large’ turned out to be something of an understatement: it was enormous, and she could only manage half of it. Dad opted instead for Spaghetti bolognese.
Tomorrow, we’re heading further along the coast to revisit a beach near Ierissos that we enjoyed a few years ago.
