Σταυρός, Θεσσαλονίκης 🇬🇷
We stayed local to Σταυρός (Stavros) today, beginning with breakfast in the garden outside our apartment. The breakfast here is very generous, so it was a lovely, but very filling, start to the day.
We spent the morning beside the pool. I read a couple of chapters of my book, went in for a few swims and lay in the sunshine in between. After several days out exploring, it was nice to have a more relaxing morning, without feeling the need to be anywhere.
For lunch, we had some of the rolls I’d bought at the bakery yesterday, along with the last of the cheese and ham. That was followed by a siesta for a couple of hours, until 5pm.
Later, Mum and I walked down to the beach here in Stavros. It wasn’t especially busy, although there are a couple of beach bars serving food and drinks. Our favourite is the Jasmine one – the people there are very friendly, and it has a relaxed atmosphere. Best of all, the sea was wonderfully warm to swim in!
In the evening, we returned to the beachfront for dinner at a fish restaurant, chosen so that Dad could have fish. I’m not a fish eater, so I had chicken fillet with chips, squeezing a slice of lemon over the chicken.
It was a simple, relaxing day close to the apartment: But tomorrow, I think we’ll be getting back in the car and heading to another beach somewhere in the Halkidiki area.
Καληνύχτα,
Φ.Χ.
